History

Our drilling activity started in 1907 while searching for potassium salts in Transylvania. In 1909 natural gas was discovered with the 2 Sarmasel well at a depth of 302 m. This fact allowed public illumination with gas lamps in Bucharest in 1918.

Our Projects

S.C. Dafora S.A. provides drilling and construction services. The company offers onshore drilling services for oil, gas, and geothermal water. We also do well testing and provide transport and maintenance services for drilling equipment primarily in Europe (Romania, Bulgaria, France), the Middle East (Israel) and Africa (Tanzania, Uganda, Sudan, Mozambique).  We also provide civil and industrial, airport, and infrastructure construction services. OUR RECOMMENDATIONS

  • We entered into a partnership with the largest oil and gas producer in South Eastern Europe, OMV PETROM, for oil & gas drilling projects. Two of our rigs successfully completed in the past 2 long-term contracts showing a significant contribution to the Romanian oil production. A new long-term contract was recently granted to our Company for 2 of our heavy rigs.

  • Dafora participated at the international bidding process and a 4-year Master Drilling Contract was awarded by CHEVRON to our company for their Romanian, Bulgarian and Ukrainian shale gas drilling campaign.

  • A 3,100 meter well for geothermal water was drilled in Balotesti / Bucharest for Therme North. The beneficiary has developed the biggest thermal complex in Europe: a 30,000 sqm wellness, relaxation and entertainment center.
